"A fabulous biker/hiker friendly site run by a very welcoming family 3 miles south of the town centre. There is a choice here of heated cabins, each sleeping 2 adults and up to 2 children and all have a bike/equipment storage area; one cabin is ensuite, while occupants of the others have allocated showers as well as well-equipped self-catering 'inside/outside' kitchens. Bike wash, drying room and washing line also available. Its small, and very popular with bikers using the nearby BikePark Wales, so book ahead. There are also a couple of pitches for campervans."

In January 2023, Friends of the Earth Cymru asked whether Welsh Tourism can lead the way in sustainable travel. 

"Tourism contributes hugely to the Welsh economy but it also contributes to climate emissions. It's time for Wales to position itself as a destination for eco-tourism, and cater to the growing demand for sustainable travel from eco-conscious visitors."

We are delighted to feature in the 2022 edition of the Rough Guide to Wales (p112). And we got a  which means we're a favourite place!

How brothers Kris and Darrel Morgans created The Roost Merthyr Tydfil, a purpose built haven for hikers, bikers and lovers of the outdoors, in their childhood stomping ground.
