    The entrance to The Roost is behind the pub, the Dynevor Arms. At the junction at the end of Nant Y-Coed, with the pub in front of you, turn left and the gated entrance to the Roost is on your right.

    Free onsite parking. A twin EV charger is available and pre-registration is required.

    Travelling to The Roost by train is easy. Troedyrhiw train station is a 5 min walk away and connects directly to Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff, Bridgend and Barry Island.

    Cycling to Bike Park Wales from The Roost Merthyr Tydfil

    If you're heading to Bike Park Wales to ride the mountain bike trails, why not leave your car/van in The Roost and cycle up? You can ride to the visitor centre in around 17 minutes. It’s all off-road and you won't have to worry about parking or having a cheeky beer or two at the end of the day. And, on the way back to The Roost, it's all downhill!

    Turn left onto the Taff Trail just in front of the pub (don't take the lane that runs up by the houses) and follow the trail for no more than 5 minutes before turning left into the woods when you've just passed under a bridge.

    There is an alternate route which includes a footbridge and quite a few steps. Turn left at the pub but follow the lane by the houses and not the Taff Trail.

    The Roost is located in Troedyrhiw, a village in Merthyr Tydfil. The village centre is a 5 minute walk. Here you’ll find pubs, convenience stores, a chemist, cashpoints (within the convenience stores), an Indian restaurant/takeaway and other takeaways.

    Troedyrhiw train station ( 5 minutes), connects directly to Merthyr Tydfil, Bridgend, Barry Island and Cardiff.

    There’s a larger Co-op supermarket in Pentrebach ( 7 minutes, 10 minutes) along with a Halfords. In Merthyr Tydfil you'll also find a Tesco Extra, Aldi and M&S.

    Merthyr Tydfil town centre is within easy reach ( 12 minutes; 18 minutes from Troedyrhiw station or 20 minutes on the Taff Trail). Here you’ll find a wider choice of food and drink, shopping, a cinema and a leisure centre. Merthyr also a retail park.
