When can we check in?

When do we have to check out by?

Check out is by 11:00. Make sure you’ve got all your belongings – check/empty the fridge, check the drying room and shower room. Please leave things clean/tidy and bag up sheets, empty bins, turn everything off and return key.

What’s available in the guest store and honesty shop and how does it work?

In the guest store and honesty shop, there are some things you can take/use as needed. These include bin bags, dog poop bags, sanitary towels/tampons, BBQ skewers, games, outdoor blankets etc.

There are also items to buy including drinks, milk, snacks, treats, pasta, pasta sauce, tuna, porridge etc plus toothbrushes, BBQ charcoal, marshmallows and firewood etc.

Use the price list to work out your total spend then scan the QR code to make a stripe payment, include your name and cabin.

Will we have to share kitchens or shower rooms?

Not unless you want to! All cabins have allocated/private kitchens and shower rooms. No sharing. Any exclusive/group bookings can use the Roost as they wish, opening up the kitchens etc.

Where are the kitchens and shower rooms in relation to the cabins?

Our ‘original’ cabins have separate allocated kitchens (not Bodlawen) and shower rooms. These are a few steps away.

Our new cabin, Arosfa, has an ensuite and kitchenette. It’s a little less roomy as a result.

How many people does each cabin sleep?

Each cabin has a small double (4ft) bunk bed. Spacious for one, cosy for two.

The original cabins sleep a maximum of two adults and two children (under 15). A single campbed is provided in addition to the bunk bed.

The ensuite cabin sleeps a maximum of two adults and one child. There isn’t space for an additional bed.

For fire safety reasons, we need to know how many people are on site prior to arrival.

Do you have any rules?

Yes, just a few little ones that are about being considerate to guests and neighbours. They’re detailed on our booking page.

Do you provide towels and bedding?

Mattress protectors and base sheets are provided as standard. You can add bedding or bring your own. Bedding is not available for the campbeds so you’ll need to bring sleeping bags and pillows for that.

£3/bed – double duvet & 2 x pillows with cotton covers per bed (the cabins have a small double bunk bed so if using both beds, you’ll need to add two). This small charge goes towards laundry costs.

£2 – bath towel hire.

Who should I contact if there are any urgent problems/emergencies?

In an emergency, please contact the relevant emergency service first.

If you need to contact us, please call 07484 697392.

If you don’t fancy cooking or BBQ’ing, the village has various takeaways and Merthyr has a variety of options including independent pubs, restaurants and chains. Have a look at the section on useful stuff nearby on the contact us page for more information about what’s available locally.

There are also more options in the info pack which is sent to guests prior to arrival. A hard copy can also be found in the cabins.

Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Do you offer breakfasts, food etc?
