News and reopening plans

Update - 26 June 2020

The Welsh Government announced that the tourism industry should ready themselves to reopen on Monday 13 July 2020, subject to them giving the green light on Friday 10 July. We are currently awaiting guidance on what changes are required and we will be adapting and tweaking our set up accordingly. We have carried out a risk assessment  and proposed changes are set out below. As it is still a movable feast, we may need to tweak things further. We will keep the website updated and will post on twitter/facebook/instagram when we know what's happening.

Proposed changes

THREE GROUP MAXIMUM: We will be limiting the number of groups staying at the Roost to a maximum of three at any one time. This allows us to allocate each group an individual shower room (we have three!), eliminating the need for sharing. If we have three bookings we will have a 'spare' cabin which may come in useful to larger groups who are able to share a shower room.

EXCLUSIVE HIRE: Exclusive hire of the Roost will still be available. Please get in touch for more information.

CAMPERVAN BOOKINGS: Campervan spaces will only be available to book two days in advance and are dependent on the number of groups already booked in. Campervan guests will then be allocated one of the shower rooms.

THE KITCHEN: Usage of the kitchen will be limited to one group at a time. We will be cleaning more and guests are expected to do their bit - cleaning up, sanitising and disposing of any rubbish every time they use the kitchen. The kitchen walls will be left open for ventilation.

BEDDING: We will not be providing duvets, pillows or headboard cushions for the time being. Mattress protectors and fitted sheets will be provided so guests only need to bring their own pillows and duvets/sleeping bags. For the safety of our team, please bag up the sheets at the end of your stay.

SOCIAL DISTANCING: Guests should maintain social distancing of 2m from other groups and should stay out of the kitchen until it is free. We will stay away as much as possible but are about if needed.

CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS: If anyone in a group has shown symptoms within 14 days of your arrival date, they (and any other of your group's members they've been in contact with) must stay home. If anyone in your party develops coronavirus symptoms during your stay, please notify us immediately.

  • We will continue to offer contactless self check-in with key coded entry in/out of the site, key coded entry to the shower rooms plus key safes/keys to the cabins.
  • Surface sanitiser and kitchen roll will be provided in the cabins, shower rooms and the kitchen; please use as required.
  • Antibacterial handwash is provided at all sinks and hand sanitiser at the entrance to the site. Please continue to wash your hands regularly.
  • The picnic tables will be spread out around the site and guests should clean/sanitise these before and after use.
  • Each cabin will have its own individual bbq.
  • All non essential items will be removed including board games and information packs (this can be viewed online).

That's all for the moment. We will hopefully know more soon. If you need anything or have any queries please get in touch.
